The

Agricultural Education Program

at

Rockville High School

An Opportunity for students to pursue their Agricultural interest as part of a comprehensive, four year high school education.  Upon successful completion of the program and graduation from high school, students may pursue college, start their own business or enter the workforce. 

Agricultural Education offers a hands-on approach to learning, development of employability skills and leadership training.

What We Do

The Agricultural Education Program consists of three parts:

• Classroom/Laboratory Instruction
• FFA
• S.A.E.P.

The Classroom/Laboratory component includes instruction in content areas such as: 

• Animal Science
• Plant Science
• Agriculture Mechanics
• Aquaculture
• Natural Resources.

The FFA provides leadership training such as:

• Public Speaking
• Team Work 
• Decision Making

All Agriculture Education students are FFA members.

The S.A.E.P. or

Supervised

Agricultural Experience Program 

is similar to Cooperative Work Experience.

All components of the program are required of each student.
